Is it just me....

or is anyone else in the classroom interested in French? How does one answer "When am I ever going to use this?"? I think it's arrogant that we Americans expect everyone to speak our language. We can hear French in New Orleans, northern New York state, Maine, and of course there is Quebec. Maybe it's our instant-gratification society that has caused the lack of interest in foreign language. What do you think?
